A new wine bar and pizzeria called Sorsi e Morsi is taking over the site on Hammersmith Road which was formerly home to pizza restaurant Villagio.

Sorsi e Morsi, which has a popular existing branch within Tooting’s Broadway Market, promises to offer “the finest Neapolitan pizzas matched perfectly with carefully sourced wines and outstanding service. A winning combination!”

Founders Mark Graham and George Bendrino, who both have years of experience in the hospitality industry, say they hope to launch their new venture by the beginning of November.

206 - 208 Hammersmith Road is a key site opposite Hammersmith Bus Station, and close to large town centre office buildings including Shortlands and 345 Hammersmith Road. It has been empty and falling into dilapidation since the owners of the Villagio chain, Dining Street Limited, collapsed into administration last year.

Applications have been submitted this month to H&F Council to add new signs and a menu box and to make alterations to the external facades to include, repainting walls, installation of new external wall lighting, window boxes and planters. The restaurant also hopes to have tables outside on Hammersmith Road.
