Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in West Kensington. The victim has been formally identified as Stacey Westbury (pictured right) aged 23 of Church Ward House, Ivatt Place, West Kensington Estate, W14.

Police were called to her address shortly after 18.00 on Friday, 17th August to reports of the body of a woman being found inside a flat. Officers attended and found the body of a woman in her early 20's suffering stab injuries reportedly including a cut throat. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 15 month old son was in the flat at the time of the killing but was found unharmed.

Chris Braithwaite, a 21 year old man from Bentworth Road, Shepherd's Bush was arrested on the following morning and taken to a west London police station where he remains in custody. Earlier this week he was charged with murder.
