Police investigating the stabbing of a 14 year-old boy in Hammersmith Broadway on Monday May 16 have arrested a fourth person in connection with the incident.

The boy, in his mid teens, remains in custody pending further enquiries.

Three other people in their mid-teens who were arrested between May 16 and 17 have been bailed to a date in late June.

Meanwhile the victim, who is a pupil at Richmond Park Academy, is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Lesley Kirby, Headteacher at the academy said: “We are shocked and stunned at the news that a 14-year-old student was attacked in Hammersmith yesterday after school.

"Our thoughts are very much with him, his family and his friends at this critical time. We all wish him a speedy recovery.”

The attack took place in front of horrified crowds in the bus station outside Hammersmith Broadway at 3.50pm.

Several police cars attended and an air ambulance landed on the King Street NCP car park roof with a large area around the scene cordoned off.

The victim was taken by land ambulance to a central London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
