Hammersmith and Fulham Police say there has been a burglary at St Peters Church in Black Lion Lane, and are asking local residents if they saw anything suspicious between the houses of 4.30pm on Friday September 21 and 9.30am on Saturday morning.

Police say the church, which backs on to the A4 was locked by nursery staff on Friday afternoon. When the staff re-opened the church next morning they noticed that an untidy search of the premises cupboards had taken place with the drawers pulled out and cupboards opened.

It is also thought a laptop may have been stolen.

The burglar gained entry to the church by forcing open a door that locks from the inside only.

Local residents who spotted usual activity around Black Lion Lane are asked to contact DS Sullivan in the Hammersmith and Fulham Burglary Squad on 0208 246 2655 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
