|Take the Kids to Hug a Husky at the Wetland Centre|
And meet Santa in his log cabin grotto
Take the family to London Wetland Centre this weekend, December 10 and 11 and little ones can take a husky sleigh ride and visit Santa in his cosy log cabin grotto.
They can also have their photos taken with one of these cuddly dogs as a special seasonal souvenir.
Of course Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Santa, so bring the children to meet him in his cosy grotto set among the firs and pine trees. Merlin the magician – and the centre's very own band of wetland wizards - will be on hand to help Father Christmas keep the children entertained.
There will be plenty of festive family fun throughout the weekend. Join in Christmas arts and crafts sessions or help entertainers with their weird and wonderful activities and experiments that will amaze and astonish you.
Take a stroll among the lakes, meadows and ponds of this wonderful winter oasis. See the frost glistening on the trees and watch the ducks hunting for their own version of Christmas dinner! After your walk, warm yourself up with a mulled cider, hot chocolate or a mince pie. You can even enjoy your own Christmas lunch in the Water’s Edge Café.
In the Wetland shop there's enough choice for you to fill everyone's Christmas stocking this year, with classic confectionery and plenty of wildlife themed gifts. Tempt your taste buds throughout the weekend with special Christmas tastings of wonderfully old-fashioned sweets and chocolates. Gifts from London Wetland Centre's shop won't just delight whoever is unwrapping them on Christmas day: when you shop at the centre, you're also contributing towards vital conservation work in the UK and around the world.
There is a £5 charge per child to visit Father Christmas which includes a goody bag.
Santa and his huskies will be at the Centre from 10.00am until 4.00pm each day. The sleigh rides are for children aged 8 and under.
