Fulham Palace Road "fairly busy" when 90 year-old man died
Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Fulham Palace Road which caused the death of an elderly pedestrian on Monday, July 8.
Police were called at around 10.35am to a section of Fulham Palace Road near the junction with Crabtree Lane, following reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade all attended but sadly the pedestrian - a 90-year-old local man - was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He was not arrested.
The Coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.
Detective Sergeant Jeff Edwards, who is leading the investigation, says: " I am grateful for a number of people who stopped at the scene to assist. This stretch of road was fairly busy with commuters at that time and I would urge anyone who may have seen any of the parties in the moments leading up to the collision, or the collision itself, to contact police."
