Bishops Park is hosting an inaugural duck race and family fun day on Saturday August 8 in aid of children’s charity, Dreams Come True, which aims to fulfil the dreams of children and young people with life limiting illnesses.

Alongside the main duck race, the fun and games will include a bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts as well as performances from local dance and singing groups, including The Music House for Children.

Families are welcome to bring their own picnics or tuck into a whole range of food available, from crepes, to gourmet burgers, wood fired pizza and ice creams to gluten free brownies - there's something for everyone!

The festivities, which are sponsored by estate agent Savills, kick off at 11am and will continue throughout the afternoon until 5pm, with the main duck race starting at 2pm.

Prizes such as dance classes with EOSDance, a one week sports holiday camp voucher courtesy of Little Foxes, a ROXI restaurant voucher, Bramley Big Adventure vouchers and an inflatable minion will go to the first 50 lucky Dream Ducks that cross the finish line.

Dream Ducks cost £5 each, or companies and local businesses can sponsor a large duck for £100 where they will be able to brand the duck in line with their company colours.

Nurseries and schools are encouraged to get involved and decorate ducks for the day. All proceeds raised from the duck sponsorship goes towards Dreams Come True.

Savills is a charity partner of Dreams Come True, and the relationship is part of their graduate development programme. The graduate charity team actively  supports the charity in many ways, such as a football World Cup sweepstake, numerous networking events and a cricket auction.

To donate £5 for a duck, visit Dream Duck Race Day's  JustGiving page.

If you are a local business / organisation who would like to get involved, please call Jo Sorg at Dreams Come True on 01428 726330.
