Police are appealing for assistance tracing a man in connection with a series of 17 thefts committed at 'high end' and designer stores across London, including our local area.

The thefts were committed across three boroughs, including ten in Westminster, five in Kensington and Chelsea and two in Hammersmith and Fulham - between 20 February 2014 and 29 June 2015.

Goods including jewellery, clothing, hangbags, purses, cosmetics and sunglasses worth £35,000 were stolen.

The suspect, who is well spoken, is described as being fairly tall, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft 2ins tall of proportionate build with short, dark hair. He is usually clean-shaven but occasionally has stubble facial hair. He is often seen to be wearing a pink collared shirt, a thin v-neck jumper and various overcoats.

A Metropolitan Police super recogniser linked the same suspect to all the different offences after scanning thousands of images, despite them being spread across a wide geographic area of London.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Neville, Head of the Central Forensic Image Team, said: "Anyone with information on this suspect should contact police immediately. We will treat all information in the strictest of confidence."

Anyone with information should call local police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
