Today's strike by public sector workers, which includes teachers, firefighters, civil servants and local government staff, will affect some services including schools and libraries. 

All libraries in the borough will be closed, with the exception of Shepherds Bush Library, which will be open as usual.

A list of schools and their status is below but parents are advised to visit websites of their children’s schools or contact the schools direct.

Register office

There will be a limited service in the register office, with no birth or death registration. 
- Callers wanting to register a birth should come in next week (week beginning Monday July 14) while those calling to register a death should visit the office on Friday. 
- There will be no same-day issue of certificates.  Processing times for applications received over the counter tomorrow will depend on available resources. 
- You can still take certificate orders as normal, but please advise an additional two days will be added to the usual production time
- There will be limited back office assistance.  Please ask callers to ring again on Friday or, preferably, Monday.
- Emails to the register office will not be answered until Monday at the earliest
- The citizenship office will be closed and will reopen on Friday.
