The Merry Opera Company's presentation of Mozart's The Magic Flute at Riverside Studios is a delight for opera connoisseurs and for newcomers alike ... and we have three pairs of tickets to give away.

Part-pantomime, part-opera, Kit Hesketh-Harvey’s new production relives The Magic Flute's sublime music and triumphant opening night in 1791. Lofty divas and low comedians flourish.

Watching closely are the shadowy forces of Freemasonry. And the composer, Mozart, fears he is being poisoned.

Kit Hesketh-Harvey is well known for his cabaret (Kit and the Widow, Kit and McConnel) and his appearances on Radio 4’s Just a Minute.

But he also has an established track record translating opera for the Royal Opera House, ENO and Opera North and has directed The Merry Opera’s sell-out productions of La Traviata and La Belle Héléne.

To be in with a chance of winning the tickets, simply answer this question:

In which year was The Magic Flute first performed?

Send your answer in an email headed Magic Flute to: editor@hammersmithtoday.co.uk by midnight on Sunday, February 10.

The Magic Flute continues at Riverside's Studio 3 until March 3. You can buy tickets online or by calling the box office on 020 8237 1111.
