Drunken behaviour

Is anyone else fed up with the foreign men who clutter up the pavements at the Ravenscourt Road/Chiswick High Road junction, drinking in excess and making it very difficult for people to walk on the pavements.  Not to mention urinating against walls and in the bushes in Ravenscourt Park.   Yesterday afternoon as I walked by one man was urinating against the wall.  I commented it was not a public toilet.   If words could kill, his reply (in a foreign language) would have slain me.  I do feel that it is not acceptable to have this sort of behaviour happening in and around a public park which is used by members of the public and a lot of families with small children.   Is it the Council's job, or the Police?  Or both?

I agree, closing in daylight would be a shame, but I know they used to close the park at dusk, ie when the light is fading but while it was still light enough to see any loiterers and to clear late walkers out. I think it would help to close as the sun is setting or daylight is fading, and not wait until it is pitch black. To have the park gates open when totally dark can only be enticing to the wrong sort of park users.

We also have many drunken people along the Shepherds Bush Road who sit in doorways or on peoples walls with their cans of beers and also urinate in the street which is most unpleasant for the children.  What is becoming of Hammersmith?  It used to be such a lovely place to live.Can anything be done to assist the people who live at the Shepherds Bush Housing Project on the Shepherds Bush Road who just sit on their front doorstep drinking all day long or frequenting the park by Tesco or Brook Green?

The parks constabulary close the gates at night after going around the park issuing loudspeaker warnings that they are about to do so.Short of closing the park whilst it is still light (which would be a shame), I can't think what more they can do.What do you want to be done ?  Serious question.

I see that the police/council are attempting to address the problem with vagrants and/or drunken men in Ravenscourt Park, in that they have closed the Scented Garden. However, yesterday, April 3rd, I walked past three separate entrances to the park between 8.40 and 8.50pm. It was well after dark and all three gates were wide open to allcomers. This can't be conducive to keeping out the drunks and vagrants, preserving safety, and keeping the park clean. Anyone from the Council know what is being done?

Thanks.  I have seen those.  I posted it on the Hammersmith forum to see if Hammersmith residents who use this website were also finding this a troublesome situation.  I think everyone uses the Chiswick Forum, whether they live there or not.
