Opinion polls

With the national elections around the corner is it easy to find out the national opinion polls but I wanted to find out the opinion for Hammersmith and Fulham as this is a very close seat.Does anyone know where this information can be found or what the forcast is for the local region or even if such polls exist on a local basis.It is interesting to see that local conservatives have increased the problems of the area while Labour and Lib Dems have been quiet on most fronts.Any news would be helpful.

HiThere are no recently published opinion polls for H&F or indeed London. There are a number of websites that predict local results from national opinion polls. A useful one is www.electoralcalculus.co.uk although it can be a little out of date. Also take care - Hammermimth & Fulham is such a marginal seat that national opinion polls are not much of a guide to what will happen here.Interested in the comment "local conservatives have increased the problems of the area". Labour has controlled H&F Council for nearly 19 years. We have had a Labour MP and government for nearly 8 years. Mr. Livingstone has been at County Hall for nearly 5 years. Hard to see how the conservatives can have increased your problems. You need to blame someone else when you come to vote in 2005!

I don't know of any local polls. You could try going into a bookie and see if they would be willing to make odds on the outcome.It may also be possible to get ward by ward data for the recent GLA elections which would tell you what the voting pattern in the constituency was earlier this year.
