Mv Arctic, Hammersmith Embankment
Dear all, it has been a long time since we have spoken and myself and my family have been out of our home since Feb.17. Since then I have been working hard to legitimise all things relative to mooring my boat on the river. Unfortunately, I have had to work alone, that is why it has taken so long. I now have a rarity on the river, which is a certificate of lawful development for permanent mooring comprising of one residential unit, entitling myself and Arctic to legally moor & reside at the Hammersmith site. App. No. 2005/00431/CLE. If you are unfamiliar with our boat, it is renowned as having one of the nicest gardens in Hammersmith. The reason I am contacting you is because I would like your support to encourage the Hammersmith Consultation Team (www.hammersmithconsultation.co.uk) to include residential mooring and MV Arctic on their new plans. As you may be aware there is only a rowing club and visitor moorings planned. There is already a six berth private marina with visitor mooring, no more than 400 metres downriver. This has been dormant except for one (landlord) since it was built in approx. 1998. As I already have planning permission to reside, the council would have difficulty refusing.I have the support of over eleven hundred people in the local community and three local resident associations. I am a full member of the Dutch Barge Association and the Resident Boat Owners Association and whom fully support me. There is a huge necessity for residential moorings on the river and an even greater need in west London.I have already forwarded a copy of my certificate of planning to Jessica Stewart in Hammersmith Consultation and I am awaiting a reply. A letter contact from you to them would be sincerely & greatly appreciated . Thanking everyone for there support, Yours Eamon, Kate, Isabelle and Eden. 07966169031 www.mvarctic.co.uk
