One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five, for silver, six for gold, seven a secret never to be told.............does anybody know what 8, 9, 10 or even more is?

Thanks for that, and I believe magpies are part of the crow family.

I did a quick google search and there seem to be different versions ... eg. from http://www.shades-of-night.com/aviary/rhyme.htmlEight for heaven, nine for hell,And ten for the devil's own sel'eight for a wish, nine for a kiss, ten for a timeof joyous bliss... and apparently in N America, the rhyme refers to crows...
