Meet the Police Borough Commander this Thursday

As previously promised, this is to notify users of this forum of the next open meeting of the Hammersmith & Fulham Community Safety Board.This will take place this coming Thursday, 26 January, at The Clem Attlee Tenants Hall, Clem Attlee Court, Fulham, SW6 7SA, 7.00–8.00 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet Heather Valentine, the Police Borough Commander, as well senior representatives of the Council and other local bodies, and to raise your concerns, or simply to listen in.Since becoming a member of the H&F Community Safety Board, I have pushed for members of the public to be allowed to attend these meetings. We have already held meetings in the White City aimed at residents of Shepherd's Bush, Hammersmith Town Hall for Hammersmith residents and this meeting is designed to be most easily accessible for Fulham residents.However, we shall welcome any resident of the borough with any questions.Please try to come. You will hear answers from people who really can influence life in the borough, and they are accountable to you!Thanks.Edward Noel

WilliamThat was our loss. It would have been good to see you there and to meet another forum poster.I am not 100% certain that no other members of this forum came, because I didn't speak to them all personally, but the turn out was quite good - about a dozen, most of whom did ask questions, received comprehensive answers, and were given plenty of time to put their views across. A very useful meeting.The specific issue of zero-tolerance policing did not come up, but perhaps you would like to attend a future meeting and to raise it then.Dates for future meetings are:Thursday 9th March 2006Tuesday 9th May 2006.Locations are still to be decided, but I shall announce them here when known. I was asked to become chair of the board at the last meeting, which I am still considering, but, either way, I shall hope to see you and other forum members there.Edward

Unfortunately I was away this week and did not pick up your post until today - what a pity, as I would most certainly have come.  How was the attendance, and did the Borough Commander (to whom I have written several times in the past)have anyhthing useful to say, particularly about zero-tolerance policing?
