disability charities local for H&F children

Are there any local charities specific to residents of H&F that would help fund equipment, special bikes etc for a local toddler who has a severe disability. There are bigger charities that do this, but you get buried in paperwork. It would be better to make contact with somewhere like a Rotary or other small group who could build a relationship with the child.Any ideas please?

I'm afraid I don't know of any local ones but if the child is at nursery or school he or she can be referred to a friendly organisation called CENMAC www.cenmac.com who will do an assessment of what they think is needed and apply to the Borough for funding.  it is a slow process but they deal with the paperwork with the school, not parents which is always a relief!  I am not sure a bike falls under their remit but do ask.By the way, ebay sometimes has special needs things like Mission tricycles at bargain prices.Sophie
