Does anybody know what particular bird this is, it seems very happy to be singing away at 1.30 in the morning.

"It does make you wonder who they are advertising to........the aircraft coming into land maybe?"That might explain the one facing east, but what's the one facing Chiswick for? This is the view from Chiswick. The red light to the left of the Premier Travel Inn advert is the Telecom Tower. (Sorry about the fuzzy image - it needs a tripod for this sort of shot.)

I think all the street lamps confuse them about when it's day and when it's night. Talking of light pollution, I'm surprised that Premier Travel Inns have been allowed to put their name in extremely bright lights at the top of the old Vencourt Hotel building on King Street. From the top of my house in Chiswick it looks completely out of place and unnecessary on the otherwise dark(ish) horizon.

Well at least I know it is not me hearing things !!!It just seems really weird, nice tho, to hear birds singing at that hour. Maybe they are just happy that Spring is on the way.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night ......
Funny that - I was also disturbed by loud(ish) birdsong at about 2am last night in darkest Ealing. Is it the warmer weather? ;-)
