There are some great attractions and things to do and see in Hammersmith!

I was wandering along Hammersmith Terrace near Black Lion Lane late this afternoon (down by the riverside) and was fascinated by some of the places I saw.  That 30 minutes went quickly!I like Victoriana and so there were architectural delights to observe in each direction I looked!  They are three BLUE PLAQUES in one area for starters!Actually..this thread is just an excuse for me to hang up some of my photos. You can use them however you wish!

Hello Audrey,John,Caroline and AnnThanks for your reponses and memories about this stretch of the W6 riverside.  I had almost forgotton about that narrow roadway..and those walks in years gone by to The Ship pub and the Dove.There are more blue plaques too! and some very nic people walking about!!hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhAnd they all have hugh terraces in their back gardens overlooking the River Thames..south facing too..so it must be glorious at times.hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhOwn up!! Ah Jim,Memories...used to walk all around that part of Hammersmith with one old flame back in the late 1940s.Lovely pictures.Thanks for the memory/memories.

Walk through Ravenscourt Park when the leaves are taking on their autumn hues (late this year) on a sunny morning (we will have one of those again soon).

One of my favourite parts of the river, Jim.  I often walk from Hammersmith Pier to Chiswick Pier.  In the evening as the sun is setting it can look quite magical.  I feel here in Hammersmith we have one of the loveliest parts of the river to walk by.

Do you know this area well?Actually I had travelled along from Chiswick Mall..where I had an appointment..and found myself in a one way system and I thus ventured towards Hammersmith and ...er.er. crossed the border...which I presume is at that Millers Yard the old Bakery was located.wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwAll those unusual porches and smart front doorswwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwThe first of several plaques!wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwWith back garden terraces..overlooking the river.Delightful area..a pub too.
