Why is this forum so underused?

I note there are currently 175 visitors on the Chiswick forum but currently only 2 on here.............any ideas why this is?  Come on Hammersmitherians (?)...........we must have something to talk about.

Well, the forum certainly hasn't been underused over the past few days.  Never had so many emails telling me I have a message on the forum.

I agree.  I stumbled on this site and am glad we can talk about what's happening locally.  Particularly given all the changes with the new council.  It may be a "bit political" to say I feel uncomfortable about things they're doing but I do so why not say it here?

Mmmm, maybe we should be careful what we ask for...I seem to remember a few threads a few months ago (some started by me !) hoping that our councillors would start reading this Forum.If we don't like political threads, I guess we should ignore them...

Gulp. What a booboo.One of the previous five threads was started by Edward Noel about policing and Edward is too clever to be a councillor and too sensible to be political. 1,000,000 apologies to you Edward.

The only thing worse than the site being underused is it being taken over by councillors sounding off about the budget. I know it's ENTIRELY my fault since I started it all, but it really is getting out of hand. Before I posted this (and effectively bumped this non-political thread) the last 5 threads on the forum were started by councillors.

As Bob knows i live in Chiswick,and come into Hammersmith fairly often.for a pint,but to go into King St now is like being in the UN.And i feel out of place,and nervous going down the high St.in my mobility scooter so now i keep clear of the high St.I Often look at Hammersmith web site,but mainly on the forumit is Politics,which is understandable and i cant realy comment on, coming from Chiswick.Keep Posting, I might get in some were..

u have a point carol ...i live in hartswood so im on the borders of chiswick and upto ealing ... so maybe some people are logging onto the chiswick w4 web as they probably go to chiswick high road and its environs as much as towards H&Fweve got dog attacks and sex at frankies right now so thats probably whats holding their interest ...this site needs a bit MORE advertising thats all..cheers #

"They wouldn't have tried it with a continental policeman because they all carry guns..."Audrey,Totally agree with you;  the same thought struck me.  Lord preserve us from the day when our police are armed.  I shudder just to see the police at airports carrying 'armalites' or whatever they are.    Seems so wrong.I know, I know - I can already see the furious comments about terrorists, etc.

Oh, and as for under-use, Chiswick has been going far longer than Hammersmith.  We have tried to ginger it up in the past, but the posts gradually drop off.  I think we have a different readership in Hammersmith.

They wouldn't have tried it with a continental policeman because they all carry guns - as our police should.  Several innocent members of the public could have been killed or maimed.

Goodness, just read about the car chase in Hammersmith.  Just like something out of the movies.    Its amazing that no one got hurt.  That happened on the 9th, so not that out of date news.  It would be interesting to know how many cars are stolen in Hammersmith.  Is it a problem for the area?  Anyone know?

It is a shame.  I admit I have posted on the Chiswick one but mainly because of the lack of visitors.  But as another postee has already stated our home page is so out of date no wonder nobody is visiting this site.

Its an old chestnut but it does not get the same usage as Chiswick.  Shame but maybe in time. I think most people use the Chiswick one.
