I wonder how much food is thrown away over Christmas simply because too much has been bought. I have seen people with trolleys so full of food it is spilling over, I appreciate extra is needed for friends/family but surely there is only so much that can be eaten...........and after all it is only 2 days.

I agree about the kids, prefer animals any day! But sorry Christmas does not do it for me, think it has lost any meaning (if it had any!), become much too commercialised (but so have most things) and just an excuse for everything to be increased in price. Don't get me wrong, I do love giving pressies (more so than receiving) but I do that anyway

Who needs kids? I just love Christmas time. And especially the build up.... mulled wine, hot chestnuts, carols, Christmas trees, wrapping presents, making mince pies ..... could go on and on and on......

I know, anybody would think the shops are shut for weeks. Also have you noticed how all of a sudden you can't buy "small" items, meat etc....... everything feeds 50,000! But as soon as the new year arrives, hey presto, back to normal size!It just amazes me the fuss made for one day, ok if you have kids I suppose it is different.
I agree. I have to say seeing the laden trolleys rolling out of the supermarket at this time of the year, it looks like everyone is embarking on a 3 month seige. But they are back again on the 28th stocking up again for the new year seige.
