Hi to Hammersmith from a very wild and windy Ireland......happy New Year to one and all.Let's try and keep the postings rate a little higher for Hammersmith in 2007.I won't ever again been visiting Hammersmith (age, etc. etc.) but over Christmas I was describing a London fog/smog to my eldest great grandson Richard Butfoy (8 yrs.) I told him how we had to leave the Regal Cinema in Hammersmith because the fog had entered the cinema and the manager had decided to close the theatre. We had to walk home to Wellesley Road, Chiswick, and it took us three hours! We bumped into trees, phone boxes and lamp posts, and tripped up and down kerbs. We literally 'felt' our way home. He was amazed and couldn't imagine it. The subject came up because we had a sea mist all around the house, and he had never seen one so dense. One of the joys of old London back in the 1950s!
