Forum Drinks Anyone?

It’s been quite sometime since we had a forum drink. And after liasing with Caroline, we thought it would be a good idea to arrange one in the near future. Timing and venue subject to discussion. Anyone up for it? Chiswick do it on a regular basis, so we can’t we strive to be as good as them.

I must say they are being a bit picky about the requirement to live in W6Sorry to hear you will be resigining from the role of Chair of the Hammersmith & Fulham Community Safety Board. Hooray!Incidentally, just to keep the friends and acquaintances I have made via this forum informed, I am not proceeding with the idea of editing this website. The owners felt that I was well-qualified to do so, but were unable to offer me the position since I am not actually a resident of Hammersmith, W6. They kindly said that they would bear me in mind for editor of the Shepherd's Bush version, if it takes off sufficiently in future.Also, I am resigning my role as Chair of the Hammersmith & Fulham Community Safety Board, because I have too many other commitments. This does not mean that I shall not support it by attending as a member of the public from time to time, and, of course, should not stop you from doing so.

Hi MarkI too was sorry you could not make it the other night.I don't remember being involved in a Property Forum, or meeting before...but I spend a lot of time with Greg Smith who comes to meetings of The Hammersmith & Fulham Community Safety Board (which I chair) and at the CDRP meetings (which he chairs!) - perhaps you recognized my name in that way?Hope to rectify this by meeting at the next drinks - an outside session in June sounds unmissable to me!

Sorry about the delay in response...No, I haven't been in The Dove, either, John...but it sounds great!Being married with a 7-year-old means I don't spend as much time as I would like whiling away the hours in pubs! But I would definitely like to make it to both The Rutland and The Dove, so the next Forum Drinks will be a great excuse to tick one of them off the list!

Rutland is fine with me, though we better check whether it's a music night beforehand - know they have live bands sometimes. Edward -  have you not been in 'The Dove' - the smallest pub in the UK? (the one just by the river - behind the town hall via the subway.)

Like you, Noel, I pass by it every week.  I used to go to a club which met in the private room on the first floor but not had a drink there for ages.  Have the occasional glass of something good at the Blue Anchor.  And I come from the next door county, Northamptonshire.  Lovely part of the world.

The Rutland sounds great to me. I have never been to any of those riverside pubs, although I keep passing them and seeing them on TV. Plus, I'm actually from Rutland originally!

How about the Rutland - on the river by Hammersmith Bridge.  Lots of space outside, and also inside if weather less than summery.

Ok lets aim for a summer get-together.Caroline is up for it as well I think, provided after 19th June. Perhaps the last week in June?I'm sure we can find a venue for 'al fresco' drinks. There's certainly a few around or we could always try one of the riverside pubs if it's not too out of the way for everyone.

It was a great pleasure to meet some fellow forum members at the drinks. My thanks especially to John K for organizing the event and to Caroline for being there at 6.30 so that I had someone else to talk to!Personally, I would support a summer get-together (which doesn't have to preclude a subsequent one in the autumn), particularly if we could find a venue which would allow us to be outside, but had indoor capacity too, in case of rain/snow/swarms of locusts.

I suggested the autumn, John, as its often difficult to get many people together during the summer months due to holidays.  But you know me, always happy to while an hour or so away over a glass of wine.By the way, I see the Putney forum drinks for last night was cancelled due to lack of support.  And they have a more active forum than we do here in Hammersmith.
