Is it time for that drink yet.... ?

With the summer behind us is it time for another forum drink?

Don't retire the thread until I have said how much I enjoyed the evening.  Meeting Deb and The Famous Jim, and seeing Edward again ... and of course Colin!  Thank you all for coming along.  A very relaxed, interesting evening and I look forward to us all meeting again in 2008 and welcoming more Hammersmith Forum Supporters to the group.

Good to meet you too Deb, and Carolyn,Don and Edward..and although  there were only five of us it was well worth while.It's certainly an unusual way to met new faces..but straight away we are all on the same waylength.We had a good ole chatter. Apologises had been received from John. A cosy venue too!  Six next time?

To let everyone know, that the Forum Drinks will be on Monday, 26 November, 6.30 onwards at the The Andover, 57 Aldensley Road, W.6.  Aldensley Road is north of King Street and Glenthorne Road.  Nice friendly local and I am asking them to reserve a table (or even two) in the corner. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Hi fellow hammersmithorian here - I have been occasionally logging on and watching the cyber-banter. Quite a little forum you've got going but you guys can't organise a p*ss- up in a brewery. Have you had your drinks yet or still pending ....and can anyone just join in and is there a colour code for us newcomers who wouldn't know who anyone is?

As at yesterday, the Thatched House is closed for a refit, opening some time in late Oct., I think

Whoops, yes, I sort of moved it north!  Know where it is - on the left just passed entrance to Ravenscourt Park going towards Hammersmith.  No thatched roof in sight but presume it did have one once upon a time.I'm fairly easy on dates, at the moment.

It's on Paddenswick Rd.  End of October / early Nov sounds good. Lets try and get a few committments  - Emma, Jim etc on dates and then we can announce a date.

Is that the Thatched Cottage in Askew Road, John?Why don't we set a date for towards end of October or early November, before the Christmas rush overtakes us (and the pubs).  You never know, might get some more folk coming.  Hope Jim will join us with his great knowledge of Hammersmith.

Dates - I agree that mid-week is generally a better time.  Thursdays are generally good...  Location - I guess we tend to end up in the Atlas, the Thatched House and the Stonemason's Arms.. but we're happy to branch out!

Emma,Any dates in mind? Avoid Fridays and weekends for obvious reasons.And venue?  John Kennedy is an expert on the watering holes of Hammersmith.
