Did anyone see any advance advertising regarding the start of the Hovis Freewheel ride starting in Ravenscourt Park on Sunday morning? First I knew was seeing all the barriers and loos there on Saturday. Had to ask one of the marshalls what it was all about.Surely they could have advertised it locally so more locals could get up early on Sunday and watch the bikes roar off.

Thanks Jim,I don't read Time Out or the Evening Standard and don't have a bike (did once) so did not know anything about it. Shame it was not advertised locally. Maybe the organisers should take note for next year.

There were big posters all over London about it. But you did have to read Time Out/Evening Standard or go to the Freewheel website to find out that there was a Ravenscourt Park start for the ride, so maybe there could have been more made of it. Hope they repeat it next year (or even better have a carfree day in central London more regularly, like they do in parts of Paris).

Does make you wonder.

Shame really as I am sure more people would have turned up on Sunday morning. I read nothing about it on tfl site, nor this one. Maybe they didn't want any spectators to be there to cheer the cyclists on their way.
