Are home help services being cut after all?

It looks like my worst fears have been realised. Long-time readers of this forum may remember that, after the new council was elected, I was very worried they intended to cut home help services.  This was denied by Cllr Mark Loveday - pretty aggressively, if I may say so.  Now I have just read on Andy Slaughter MP's website that the council is "cutting Home Helps to at least 550 elderly and vulnerable people and sacking all 166 Helpers. Even worse they are trying to start charging for them, despite promising not to."

They ended home care services to 550 elderly, sick and disabled local residents at the July cabinet meeting.
