Community Safety Board

For anyone who has an interest in policing and community safety issues within the borough - the next meeting of the Hammersmith & Fulham Community Safety Board is on Tuesday 29th January at 6.30 p.m. in the Small Hall of Hammersmith town Hall on King Street. This meeting involves the Police, the Council and a number of voluntary organisations and council partners, who meet to discuss and formulate policing stategy for the Borough.  The meeting is also open to the general public who have opportunities to make comments and ask questions.

Illegal cycling is not scheduled as a topic for this particular meeting although I'm aware it's becoming more and more a matter of general concern.  However, that's the point of having the meetings open to the public,i.e. so that anyone can raise any issues of concern and bring some focus to them.  This is also exactly the sort of issue to raise with your local SNT (I don't know which ward you're from, but all the SNT details are on L.B.H.F. website).

Will cycling on footpaths be discussed? This is getting to be a major problem on busy streets. In some towns, cycles are allowed to share pavements with appropriate signage, warning pedestrians. Could we please consider this for the River Walk and The Mall, as police already cycle there, although it is not allowed. It does not look good.

Thank you Frances.  I shall try and get along as there do seem to be some problems in our borough and I would be interested to know how the Police and Council are proposing to deal with them.
