Royal Albert Hawley

Went to see Richard Hawley at the Royal Albert Hall last night and v. good it was too, with Jarvis Cocker and Tony Christie making guest appearences, but.....from where I was sitting, 10 rows from the stage, the sound was bloody awful as a result of the shape/acoustics of the cavernous arena.Has anyone ever been to a gig at the RAH when the sound was halfway decent, and if so, where did you sit ?  Is there anywhere in the RAH where the sound is decent, or is it simply a venue which is not suited to the amplified sounds of popular beat combos ?

It is always a shame when you go to a gig and something happens to spoil it.  You know what really bugs me when I go to concerts, well actually it is more that one thingFirst of all it says on the ticket doors open at 7.......ok we all know this is to get people in to buy drinks, see support act etc but surely people must realise that the main show is more than likely to start a couple of hours after the doors open.....so why do people turn up 3 hours later?  And then of course you get the people who seem intent on having a conversation throughout the show.......sorry but why pay good money for tickets if all you want to do is chat?  And don't get me started on those who seem to have St Vitas (?) dance.........if you want to keep getting up and down why not get standing tickets (if there are some)..........and then of course there are those who feel they can stand regardless of people behind not being able to see!  Other than that I do enjoy going to concerts!

Judging by the posts from other attendees on Richard Hawley's website, it seems that the sound further back was fine.Seems like you either get a great view and bad sound (as I did) or are miles from the stage but with good sound.Decisions, decisions....Andrew;-)

Oh dear, due to see Goldfrapp at the Royal Albert Hall in June.........think we are towards the back tho.
