Have You Seen Elisabeth Bennett?

Hopefully you all saw Lost in Austin last night. It was a brilliant start to what looks as though it could be a great series. At this moment Ms. Bennett from Pride and Prejudice is currently transported forward to modern day Hammersmith and our heroine Amanda is back in the early 19th century with her lippy, mobile phone and fags. She has persuaded the Bennetts, with whom she is staying, that Hammersmith is a great spot for otter hunting. Of course the Bennetts think of Hammersmith as a small village they pass through on the way to London.Don't know if later in the series we get to see what happens to Elisabeth in W6 but I'll be watching whatever.

Although I was a little bit disappointed with the ending which I didn't think they handled very well this was a brilliant series and I'm going to miss it.Did everyone notice that when Darcy came to modern day Hammersmith it wasn't really Hammersmith?

I have really enjoyed the series so far. Jemima is a really excellent actress and they have pitched it just right with the Austen characters behaving exactly as you would expect them to.

I watched this last night (on Sky Plus) and it was a very well made and enjoyable romp. The one criticism I would have is that with just one or two sexual references removed it could have provided a brilliant introduction to Austen for children.

Well to a large extent the first episode was a period drama except with a girl from the 21st century in it. A cross between Life on Mars and Pride and Prejudice. It is on Wednesdays on ITV1 - don't know if they have an Iplayer service which you can use to watch it.

I didn't because I do not like period dramas and thought this was another one of those.......but having read your review realise it probably isn't.  What channel is it on, hopefully they will repeat somewhere
