Teenagers, Skunk and Julie Myerson

My kids are not yet at an age where this is an issue but I'm not pretending that this isn't something I'll need to know about in years to come.Quite what should be made of the media furore over the publication of Julie Myerson's book about her son escapes me. The poor boy has been lumbered with an attention seeking mum who has clearly put him last in all her considerations on this but is it the case that he turned to skunk simply because his mum was a nightmare or does his mother have a point when she says that there is an epidemic of psychotic behaviour in teenagers caused by higher strength cannabis.

Is there any evidence her son is psychotic? From what I read he was just a particularly stroppy teenager who had a mum who always wanted to be his friend rather than his mother so he'd lost respect for her a long time ago.

I read over the weekend that this is not the first time this woman has exploited a member of her family by writing a book about them, there was a comment made that she is incapable of coming up with any of her own ideas to write about.As to whether it was because of his mother he turned to skunk I guess is an impossible question to answer.  I am sure there are many people who have worse mothers and don't turn to drugs.  Maybe she could redeem herself by donating all her profits from the book to charity.
