Whilst I am pleased that Ravenscourt Park is looking so good and receiving well earned praise, I would like to draw your attention to the plight of other so called "open spaces" within the BoroughI refer specifically to the small garden on Crisp Road directly opposite Riverside Studios. I have lived by this garden for more years than I care to remember and have plotted its rise and fall.Although only a small space it is a welcome relief in a densely populated area, however it is respected by few, abused by many and almost totally ignored by the Council. Many years ago it was replanted and spruced up by "The Hammersmith Amenity Trust" ? A body who seem to have totally disappeared. Since then it has become a dumping ground for litter, drugs paraphenalia , stolen property, domestic refuse and vast amounts of dog shit and broken glass. The amazing fact is that even though it is so squalid members of the public still use it and even sit there to eat a sandwich lunch.Depite repeated attempts, it is impossible to get the garden maintained, replanted or even the rubbish bin emptied on a regular basis. The caretakers of the Queen Caroline Estate wash their hands of it, and it is not on the radar of the local road sweeper. Any messages to the Town Hall are ignored .I have been clearing the worst of the litter from it on a casual basis for at least the last 15 years and am heartily sick of doing so. If my neighbours and fellow residents of the borough cannot respect the space why should I ?
