Two Arrests Made in Sawley Road Murder Case

15 year olds held in connection with Marvin Benoit's death

The two suspects, both aged 15, were arrested at their home addresses in West London at early this morning (12/2/03) and taken to west London police stations for questioning.

Police were called by a member of the public on 10.2.03 at approximately 19:10 and upon arrival found two men at either end of Sawley Road suffering stab wounds.

One man, aged 22, was taken to a central London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A second man who was taken to New Charring Cross hospital was pronounced dead at 20:25, 10.2.03, by staff at the hospital. The victim has been formally identified as 18-year-old Marvin Benoit.

A post mortem established cause of death as stab wounds. Police believe that an altercation took place between a number of males on Sawley Road.

A red Rover 25 car belonging to Marvin Benoit has been seized at the scene and is undergoing forensic examination.

The two victims are believed known to each other. DCI Gordon Green at SCG West is leading the investigation said: "This is a tragic case where a young mans life has been cut short. I appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident in Sawley Road to contact police immediately".
