Suspect package caused chaos on Wednesday afternoon
A bomb scare which caused chaos around Hammersmith Broadway on Wednesday afternoon proved to be a false alarm.
Hammersmith Broadway shopping centre was evacuated and tube and bus stations closed at around 4pm after a suspect package was discovered upstairs in the bus station.
The Hammersmith Gyratory was also closed as police, plus ambulance and fire crews took over and parked vehicles outside the Hammersmith Apollo.
Piccadilly and District Lines continued to run, but trains were not stopping at the station and travellers were advised to use other local stations instead.
The scare lasted just under an hour, with police declaring the package safe and reopening the centre around 5pm.
