Work to Begin in Autumn Building Pavilion on Brook Green

After planning permission was granted for Hammersmith's new community hub

Planning permission has been granted for a new pavilion in Brook Green, meaning work can begin this autumn with completion expected early next year,

Friends of Brook Green, the community group, held an Extraordinary General Meeting in July last year, where 76% of residents voted to approve the new pavilion, designed by architects De Rosee Sa.

Revisions were made to the proposal following feedback by residents, including a wider entrance hall and a zinc roof covering, before it was submitted for planning permission.

The pavilion will include disabled toilets, outdoor seating areas and a kiosk where food and drinks can be served.

Friends of Brook Green say the pavilion is a " much-needed public facility and attractive community hub".

The pavilion is part of a long-term strategy of improvement envisaged by Friends of Brook Green. The playground was redeveloped, while new tennis courts were installed in 2014. Future plans include improving pathways and increasing planting around the tennis courts.
