BT grant will pay for school radio stations
School radio stations are being set up across the country thanks to grants being handed out as part of the BT Schools Awards Scheme.
A whopping £100,000 is up for grabs every term for schools to put to use on all sorts of projects involving information and communication technology in the classroom. The deadline for the next round of awards is November 4.
Winning projects included an internet sports day, an archaeological gig for the community through webcasts and even a project which encouraged fathers to take part in literacy classes with their sons.
Richard Hamer, programme co-ordinator, said: "The online awards programme opens up opportunities for UK schools to share their teaching skills and run collaborative school projects. We are delighted to be able to help a number of schools each term and hope to receive applications soon from interested schools."
Grants are broken down into £5,000 to £15,000 awards.
Schools from every corner of the country have taken part from Jersey to Inverness.
Projects eligible for funds can cover every subject from Maths, English, Geography, Drama and Physical Education.
