Hands slams Mayor over failure to bring C-Charge extension road shows to Hammersmith & Fulham
Greg Hands MP has strongly criticised the Mayor of London this week for failing to bring any of his C-Charge extension road shows or exhibitions to Hammersmith & Fulham.
Three exhibitions and six road shows are in the process of touring the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea up until 15 July, when the official consultation period on the westwards C-Charge extension ends.
Greg believes that the extension will hit Hammersmith & Fulham residents extremely hard, forcing thousands of extra cars on to the area’s already gridlocked streets, as motorists try to avoid paying the soon-to-be £8 daily charge. Therefore, the MP is demanding that Ken Livingstone urgently arranges similar exhibitions and road shows in both Fulham and Hammersmith Town Halls, in order to give local people a fair say in the consultation.
Commenting, Greg said:
“This snub to Hammersmith & Fulham is typical of the attitude towards Hammersmith & Fulham of the Labour Mayor.
“Ken Livingstone is simply interested in making his crack-pot schemes a reality, without any regard to those who will be most severely affected by them. We must be consulted!”
