Raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support
Employees at the Nationwide Building Society in Hammersmith's King Street are inviting shoppers to join them for a cup of coffee on Friday, September 25 as part of the e World's Biggest Coffee Morning, a nationwide fund-raising event for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Juliet Ogunyomi, Nationwide branch manager says: "Our doors will be open throughout the World's Biggest Coffee Morning for anyone who wants to stop by for a coffee and a chat.
" All that we ask is that people make a donation, however big or small, to this very worthy cause and help us continue our support for Macmillan and the invaluable service they provide for people living with cancer."
Macmillan Cancer Support has been Nationwide's flagship charity since 1993. Since then, employees and customers have helped to raise almost £6 million for Macmillan, including £534,000 donated in 2008 alone.
Ciarán Devane, chief executive, Macmillan Cancer Support thanked Nationwide for their help and added: " Over two million people in the UK are living with cancer and every penny raised will take us one step closer to reaching everyone affected with essential information, expert medical care, emotional support and financial help."
