Woman in Sixties Hit by Train in Hammersmith Station

Badly hurt after falling onto Piccadilly line in 'non-suspicious' incident

 

A woman in her sixties was badly hurt when she was hit by a train on the westbound track of the Piccadilly line at Hammersmith Tube Station.

Transport for London says it is investigating the incident, which happened around 5pm on Wednesday 26, but it is believed that she tripped and fell from the platform.

British Transport Police have also confirmed that it is being treated as non-suspicious.

The incident led to the station being closed throughout the evening rush hour, severe delays on the Piccadilly line and crowds waiting in the street outside. A number of emergency services attended the scene, including the London Air Ambulance, which landed on the green outside St Paul's Church.
