Woman Pedestrian and Moped Rider Collide in King Street

Recovering in separate hospitals following crash on Monday afternoon

A woman pedestrian and the rider of a moped are recovering in separate hospitals after colliding in Hammersmith's King Street during the afternoon of Monday, 22 July.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they were called to ths scene, close to Kings Mall shopping centre, at 4.36pm to reports of a moped in collision with a pedestrian. Both police and paramedics from London Ambulance Service were sent to the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to a Central London hospital, while the moped rider was taken to a West London hospital.

Following the accident, King Street was closed in both directions and buses diverted.

A Met spokesman said: " Police were called at 4.36pm on Monday, July 22 to reports of a moped in collision with a pedestrian on King Street in Hammersmith.

" Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

" The female pedestrian has been taken to a central London hospital; we await an update on her condition.

The rider has been taken to a west London hospital; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
