Hammersmith Broadway was closed to traffic this afternoon (4 October) due to a security alert.

Two controlled explosions took place at around 3pm of what is believed to be a suspect package in a bin near the tube station entrance.

Services were suspended at the tube station and District and Piccadilly lines were not stopping.

Workers in local office blocks were advised not to stand near windows.

Routes 9 10 27 72 220 283 295 and 391 are subject to diversion and delays.

The Hammersmith Gyratory has now reopened and normal tube services to Hammersmith on the District and Piccadilly line have resumed.
