Former Hammersmith school boy has X Factor

Will JLS win TV talent show?

A former Hammersmith schoolboy and his band are on the path to stardom after getting through X Factor’s gruelling boot camp.

Oritse Williams, 21, from Carnwath Road, Fulham, is a member of boyband JLS, who are one of just 24 acts left in the talent competition.

Last Thursday the band performed at his former school, Larmenier and Sacred Heart Primary School in Hammersmith Road.

The next stage of the competition will be screened next weekend, showing JLS performing at Louis Walsh's mansion in Ireland for a place in the final twelve.

If they are succesful, Oritse's group will take their place in the live shows, aiming to win a £1 million recording contract.

“We are ecstatic that we’ve made it through, but it hurts so much to see friends you’ve made going home.” Oritse said.

During bootcamp, Louis Walsh likened the lads to an “early Motown group” and he will continue to mentor the boys as the judge in their category.
