Spotted attending workshops at The Godolphin and Latymer School
A sex offender who was arrested by Hammersmith police in July faces jail sentences totalling 27 months.
Ian Hunter, 57 was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court to serve 21 months for possession of indecent images and a further six months for breaching conditions of a Sexual Offenders Prevention Order, or SOPO.
Hunter came to the attention of Hammersmith Broadway Safer Neighbourhoods Team after a concerned parent spotted him attending workshops at The Godolphin and Latymer School.
The parent recognised his face from a BBC documentary about sex offenders broadcast two years ago.
Officers from the Hammersmith Broadway safer neighbourhoods team arrested Hunter on July 3 after reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing school staff and parents.
Police searching his home found he had breached his SOPO by having a USB memory stick, a mini-laptop and two camera data sticks. They contained sexual images of children.
Hunter will be subject to a more stringent SOPO on his release and will remain on the Sex Offender Register for 10 years.
PC Paul Trueman, from Hammersmith Broadway Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: " I feel that this investigation demonstrates how effective and productive safer neighbourhoods teams can be.
" We not only tackle antisocial behaviour, but investigate and prosecute serious offenders increasing public confidence and the safety of our residents."
