Man Arrested After Stabbing at Hammersmith Eventim Apollo

A 37-year-old man is being held on suspicion of GBH after being arrested this Wednesday (19 September). He is being detained following an incident at the Eventim Apollo on Tuesday, 4 September.

At around 9.10pm police were called to the venue after a man, also aged 37, had suffered knife wounds. They weren’t life-threatening and the victim has since been discharged from hospital.

KA & GRM Daily Rated Awards are for the British Urban music scene and a number of leading artists from the grime scene were present including Skepta and Big Narstie.

A GRM Daily spokeswoman said after the incident, "Violence has no place at the Rated Awards and we are devastated that someone has been hurt. First and foremost our thoughts are with the victim.

"The safety of attendees is our primary concern and stringent security measures were in place to ensure this. We are assisting the police with their ongoing enquiries and will work closely with them, the venue and the security team to understand how this happened."

A spokesperson for the Eventim Apollo said, "During an event at the Eventim Apollo, an incident occurred where a male was seriously assaulted.

"The individual received immediate medical care onsite and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The matter is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service, and we are assisting them with their enquiries."
