Man Dies After Fall from Building Site in Hammersmith

A man has died after falling from a height at a building site in the centre of Hammersmith in the early hours of this Sunday (1 August).

The 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3am and his next of kin have been informed.

The police say that shortly beforehand the were called to a bar in The Broadway to reports of a man a acting aggressively. They took reports from a number of people who said they had been assaulted by a man who has since left the premises.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan police said: “Police began a search of the area to track down the man.

“A short time later officers became aware of a 33-year-old man who had fallen from height on a nearby building site. They carried out emergency first aid until the arrival of paramedics.

“As is routine in these circumstances, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct has been informed. The Health and Safety Executive has also been made aware.”
