Crisis Launches New Format Store on King Street


Dropshop discounts donations unsold at the charity's other shops

Crisis has unveiled a new outlet concept in Hammersmith — Crisis Dropshop. The refreshed outlet, created to showcase sustainable, budget-friendly fashion while raising funds to tackle homelessness, has opened with a new name, logo, tone of voice and shopfront identity.

The Dropshop, which is at 108 King Street, has been made the final stop for donations from Crisis’s network of 17 UK stores. Items that have not found a home elsewhere will be price‑dropped and offered on a simple fixed‑price model: everything is priced at either £3, £5 or £8. Stock will be refreshed regularly, with two “drops” a week from other branches, a concept reflected in the shop’s name and window copy: “2 drops a week. 3 fixed prices. Ready, set, hunt.”

Global strategy and design studio Dalziel & Pow Dalziel & Pow worked with Crisis to create a youthful, playful look that aims to appeal to Gen Z shoppers while remaining true to the charity’s values. The design team developed the new visual identity — including the decision to visually “drop” the shop’s o in the logo — plus a colour palette, stickers and in‑store touchpoints intended to be practical for shop staff to maintain. Many of the display ideas were deliberately designed to be printable in‑house to keep the refresh affordable and manageable.

Amber Haas, Senior Creative Strategist at Dalziel & Pow, said the project was “a dream” for the studio and described Crisis Dropshop as “playful, joyful and full of confidence,” calling it a step change for charity retail on the high street.

Crisis’s Director of Retail, Kim Collins, said the concept is intended to “unlock the full potential of every donation” by giving good pieces another chance to be worn and loved, reducing waste and making sustainable fashion more accessible — all while raising funds to support people out of homelessness.
