CONGESTION CHARGE COMING CLOSER?
"Massive east-west plan to extend the congestion
charge zone from Shepherd's Bush to Canary
Wharf", says the Evening Standard.
According to the newspaper, the extension,
which could come into force as early as next year, would take in the
borough of Kensington and Chelsea as well as a large part of Westminster
currently outside the zone.
Together with a widen zone from Shepherd's Bush in the west to Canary
Wharf in the east, a zone around Heathrow airport is also being discussed.
The four councils involved - Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Tower
Hamlets and Hounslow - have expressed support, it is said in the article.
