More than 100 people sign petition against lap dancing club

Residents unite against West Kensington plans

West Kensington residents have banded together to stop a proposed lap dancing club on the site of the former Fox pub on the corner of North End Road and North End Crescent.

More than 130 people have signed an online petition objecting to the plan, and the group hope many more will sign the petition before the October 15 deadline.

People living in surrounding streets, such as Mornington Avenue, Musard Road and Avonmore Road say that the Passion Nights lap dancing club is unsuitable in a ‘family orientated’ area, and would attract ‘rowdy crowds’ and criminals.

Conservative Hammersmith and Fulham councillor Paul Bristow said he was also opposed to the plans.

He said: “Most people would agree that this is the wrong place

for a lap-dancing club. Avonmore in Hammersmith is a residential area with no other late night clubs or bars. The Fox is next to a library used by children, close to two local schools, and there are two nurseries within 200 metres.

“Residents fear that it would bring crime and turn surrounding streets into no-go areas. An adult venue in this neighbourhood is just unacceptable.”

Those who wish to comment on the plans for Passion Nights lap dancing club should email the licensing officer department at licensing@lbhf.gov.uk.
