Take a break from shopping to get down in the dirt
Join Thames21 on Sunday December 6 and help clean up Queen Caroline's Drawdock, by Hammersmith Bridge.
Thames21, an environmental charity which works with communities to bring London's waterways to life, says the area needs regular cleaning and can get particularly bad.
All equipment is provided, so the advice is to just turn up wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit muddy!
The clean-up is from 11.30 to 2pm, and volunteers should meet at Queen Caroline Street, by Hammersmith Bridge.
And if you want to get even muckier, you can do it all again across the river in Barnes on December 20. Again, all equipment is provided, so just wear your oldest clothes. Santa hats are optional.
This clean up is from 11am till 1.30pm and volunteers should meet at the Barnes foreshore slipway, on Lonsdale Road, opposite Gerard Road.
For more information on either event, call Judith Ressler on 07500 842283.
