Poor workmanship angers locals further as burst main causing chaos

A resident of Paddenswick Road has written to HammersmithToday.co.uk bemoaning the frustrations of Thames Water’s works in the area.

“Thames Water have been working at Paddenswick Road since last Friday morning, which left several homes in the road and John Betts school without water on Friday afternoon.

"Today, they have hit a watermain. Not very impressive workmanship...”

Thames Water are currently carrying out £500 million of work to replace old and leaky water mains in the Hammersmith area.

The 10-month project, which began in March, will replace 24km of water pipes in an area roughly bounded by Chiswick Lane, Chiswick High Road, King Street, Fulham Palace Road and the River Thames.

There is currently a hosepipe ban in force across the Thames Water area, a fact that enrages residents further when faced with wide spread disruption caused by burst mains.
