A man has died after being hit by a Piccadilly line train at Hammersmith London Underground station this Saturday (29 November).
British Transport Police says it received a call about the incident at 8:09am but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been opened for the coroner.
As well as the police, ambulances and fire engines attended the fatality which required the station to be closed for much of the morning. Passengers at the station were instructed over the public address system to leave immediately.
52-year-old headteacher Nick Soar, told The Daily Mirror he saw paramedics "rushing in" with equipment at 8.36am.
The station is now reopened and services are running normally.
The death came just twelve days after a similar incident, also involving a Piccadilly line train, at Turnham Green station.
