Figures
published today by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM)
show rise for the average band D property in Hammersmith and
Fulham will be of 5.5%, less than half last year's increase
of 13.4%.
The council tax bill in 2004-05 for a band D property (occupied
by two adults) will be £1,161, compared with £1,071
this year. In London, the average increase will be of 5.8%,
with an average Band D council taxes of £1,119.
Following last year two digit rises, there was repeated pressure
from government to hold this year's council tax increases, threatening
local authorities with capping.
